Based on the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, and the original script by well-known Russian writer Yevgheny Schwartz, this is a touching story of great love, human kindness and faithfulness to one's duty.
The tale tells about the wonderful journey of a modest little girl, Herda, looking for her friend, Kai, who was kidnapped by a powerful wicked fairy, the Snow Queen, and taken to her kingdom.
Travelling in search of her friend, Herda finds herself in the castle of a treacherous, though funny, king, gets acquainted with forest robbers. The girl meets many obstacles before she faces a decisive battle with the Snow Queen. But Herda's loyal heart will overcome all the adversities...
